Bigpoint and MTV extend their cooperation across Europe

(28.11.2008, 11:46:55) Bigpoint and MTV Networks International today extended their existing media partnership to a total of 11 countries in Europe. The announcement that the browser games from the Hamburger game developer will be offered across Europe came after the successful integration on the Web portal of MTV Germany.

Starting in November, all fans of multiplayer online games (MMOGs) in Great Britain, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Poland, Hungary as well as the four Baltic states will find a large selection of the Bigpoint games such as “DarkOrbit”, “Seafight”, “Mafia1930”, or “Gladius2”. With the integration of the browser games, MTV is counting on the rapidly growing online games market to strengthen the core gamer community on its portal.

"This European-wide cooperation with MTV is very important for us, because MTV is one of the most successful media brands in the world", says Heiko Hubertz, founder and managing director of Bigpoint. "MTV is not only a pioneer and trendsetter as a music station but also one of the most innovative types of media, combining different digital formats. After the successful integration of our games in Germany, we are now linked internationally. This connection is extremely interesting for us, because the digital TV, video and game formats are growing continually closer to each other, and as a result we can address the same target groups in different countries."

"We are happy about the extension of our partnership with Bigpoint. The strategy of MTV in the area of digital media consists of offering our users only the best of the best and entering into partnerships with the most important branch players in the area of digital media. We wish to expand our gaming offer to include all types of players so that we can offer our users a wide-based game experience on our portals. Thanks to our partnership with Bigpoint, we will be able to reach this goal,” notes Gideon Bierer, Executive Vice President Digital Media at MTVNI.
