BIGPOINT wins the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 EMEA Award
(04.12.2007, 17:08:31) With over 4,500% growth, the browser game developer takes 19th place within the 500 fastest growing EMEA companies.
The Hamburg based company Bigpoint GmbH, a leading provider of browser-based
online games (browser games), took 19th place at the „Deloitte
Technology Fast 500 EMEA“awards ceremony yesterday. In October,
Bigpoint already had taken second place in the Deloitte Technology Fast
50 in Germany with 4589.01% growth in the last four years.
With the “Deloitte Technology Fast 500 EMEA“, the international
auditing and consulting company Deloitte recognized again this year 500
companies from the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa) who
have demonstrated exceptional growth and innovation. The basis for the
nominations was the average percent growth over the last five business
years, a certain part of which must have been generated through self
developed technology. The awards ceremony took place on the 26th of
November 2007 in London.
"Having won the second place in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 was an
award which made us very proud. To be within the first 20 out of 500
fast-growing companies shows us that we are on the right path with our
business concept - and we still have a lot to do", says Heiko Hubertz,
founder and Managing Director of Bigpoint GmbH.
As technology leader in the area of browser games, Bigpoint GmbH has
set new quality standards in the design of browser games. Browser games
are long-term multiplayer games which can be played online in a browser
without downloading or installing additional software. Thanks to
Bigpoint technology, browser games no longer take a backseat when
compared to PC and console games, but have the advantage that they can
be played online at any time. Four years after its foundation, Bigpoint
already employs 110 workers; an additional 20 are planned for the teams
in Hamburg, Berlin and New York.
