Karlsruhe game developer among the top 100 technology companies
(26.05.2008, 09:00:50) Gameforge, the largest independent supplier of browser and client based online games, is the only German game developer to win the "Red Herring 100 Europe" in 2008. The US magazine Red Herring each year honors the 100 best private technology companies in the region Europe, Middle East and Africa.
The creation of the list of top companies in the private sector is by
now a Red Herring tradition that aims at drawing attention to new and
innovative technology companies and entrepreneurs. Former winners
included companies like Google, eBay and Skype.
Gameforge CEO
Klaas Kersting declares: "Getting the Red Herring award as the only
game developer from Germany among 100 technology companies confirms yet
again our leading role in the market of online games. We have achieved
a great deal in just four years. Today, more than 52 mio. people in 36
countries play our online games. The award is one more incentive for
our ambitious global growth objectives. We have established another
milestone in that direction with our recently opened branch in San
Francisco," says Kersting.
For the award, the Red Herring
editing team evaluates several hundred private companies according to
strict criteria. The assessment is based on the careful analysis of
financial key figures and subjective corporate values such as business
strategy, quality management and investment in research and development.
