Torpia 2: new hot features for Good and Evil

(23.06.2009, 21:29:53) Having received a lot of suggestions from our community, the Torpia development team has come up with a second version of the medieval browser game. Trading is now available to Evil players, and Fighting for the Good players.

After a lot of sleepless nights, and reading through all the feedback from our community, we're proud to have launched Torpia 2 on http://w3.torpia.com.

Here's a list of what is different in Torpia 2:

We've rebalanced the whole game.

Things might be a bit harder to achieve now, but make it easier for people who don't have all the time in the world to catch up.

Other things have become easier: it's now so much easier (read: doable) to keep your morale at level.

Crushing whole villages with just a small army is not possible in this version, but if you get enough units, you still might.

Having scrolls now gives your whole brotherhood a bonus.

They vary from defense bonus to faster building times.

Magic words have been eliminated, since no one really used them.

Good can fight!

However, a Good player cannot train units, he needs to get them from an Evil player.

There's no need to worry for the Evils out there: Good has 0% morale and needs plenty of barracks to house these units.

Further more, Good can not give these units further to other players. Last but not least, Good players cannot capture other towns.

Evil can trade!

But then again, not by himself, he needs to acquire the trade carts from a Good player.

As Evil has not a lot of knowledge about loading these carts, they can only store 50% in a Trade cart of what Good can store.

No more stationing! No more field battles!

Although some people have used the station option very wisely by for example surrounding other villages or stationing on trade routes, we've decided to leave this option out.

What this means is that you now have the following options as Evil: Attack, Defend, Capture and Donate (see 3). As Good player, you'll have to work with the first 2.

It makes things easier for you, for us (the dev-team had lots of headaches with the field battles) and the server (which should speed things up!).

Building limit

Evil players can now only build or upgrade 2 buildings at the same time. Good players may upgrade or build 3 buildings.

At first sight you might think this really sucks.

However, we feel that if you play the game a little bit and compare it to the current version of Torpia, you'll gonna love this limit.

Have you tried to manage 20 towns in the current version? It's a hell of a job, and might not be everyone's piece of cake.

Together with the new balance we feel that everyone has a shot on the title now.

We hope to see you on Torpia 2!
