(04.03.2010, 10:10:00) eRepublik Labs has announced today that eRepublik has integrated Facebook Connect making it easier for its over 350,000 active citizens to share their experience as citizens of the New World.
This tool will also allow eRepublik fans in Facebook to invite their friends to join the game in a quick and easy way so they can help their countries grow, sign up new employees for their companies, share their new eRepublik articles or win new members for their political party.
eRepublik already has more than 22,000 Facebook fans on its official fan page www.facebook.com/erepublik and its citizens have created in Facebook a further (non-official) 102 erepublik user pages,97 eRepublik related fan pages, 429 groups and 4 applications. Without any integration or advertising, Facebook was already the 2nd source of external traffic after Google for eRepublik, since eRepublik citizens where already inviting their friends manually to join the New World.
Now, when a Facebook user synchronizes his account with eRepublik, he will find in an iframe an "invite friends" page showing all his Facebook friends that are already playing eRepublik and have the possibility to select the ones not playing yet and that he wants to invite to join him in the New World. Also new users coming from Facebook will have a much easier and simpler registration process and will automatically see their Facebook friends who are already eRepublik citizens added to their eRepublik friends list. Since the key to success in eRepublik is collaborative game-play and in game social interaction, this will help new users greatly.
“We think Facebook Connect opens eRepublik to the users of the most popular social network worldwide and allows our fans to proudly show their progress and activity within the New World on their Facebook wall,” says Alexis Bonte, Co-founder and CEO of eRepublik. eRepublik users will be able to post their stories from newspapers and their achievements directly on their Facebook wall. “What could be more rewarding or get more feedback than sharing with all your Facebook friends that you have become President of the US…. in eRepublik,” adds Bonte.
“eRepublik citizens using Facebook can synchronize their accounts so that they are able to quickly log into the game and directly access their citizens’ page in the game just by clicking on the Facebook Connect button. Facebook users wanting to register in eRepublik will also find that it is easier and quicker to do so using this tool,” comments George Lemnaru, Co-founder and COO of eRepublik.
eRepublik recently hit the one million citizens’ (registered users) mark only 15 months after releasing its public version and reached the 2 million unique visitors per month landmark in January 2010. In that same month www.erepublik.com received over 11 million visits and 260 million page views. In addition, during January, citizens spent over 174 million minutes navigating the eRepublik world.2
The New World’s social based game play allows it to spread virally in terms of content and users, with almost no distribution and content creation costs. Listening to its community, the eRepublik team has been able to make regular releases, adjust game-play, try new things and add new features so as to increase the vast number of options players have to interact among each other. Now, after recently celebrating the first year since its public launch, over one million citizen accounts have been created and eRepublik has an active community of over 350,000 people worldwide with more than 50% playing every day.
