eRepublik available in Hungarian, Italian, Romanian and Swedish
(15.12.2009, 12:25:00) eRepublik, the massively multiplayer online social strategy game, has announced today that its interface is now fully functional in four new languages: Hungarian, Italian, Romanian and Swedish.
The game, originally designed in English, launched its Spanish version last June and added French, German, Russian and Portuguese in November.
"This addition is yet another step in our path towards offering the best game experience possible to our citizens. Interaction among players is key in eRepublik and this is always richer when conducted in their own language and when they are able to easily use the game's interface in their own language," comments Alexis Bonte, Co-Founder and CEO of eRepublik.
"This is not the end of the road. We plan to keep gradually adding new languages to the game in order to making it more accessible to our widespread community, playing eRepublik from the four corners of the World," adds Bonte.
"We have recently added the country objectives, that have enhanced politics within the game, and a new Military module is coming up. These are only a couple of examples of what players can expect from eRepublik in the coming months," states George Lemnaru, Co-Founder and COO of eRepublik.
eRepublik is a massively multiplayer online strategy game which is set in a mirror world where players, referred to as citizens, join in local and national politics, set economic policy, start businesses and wage wars with other countries. The public version of eRepublik was launched in mid-October of 2008.
eRepublik hit the 1 million unique visitors per month landmark last July and recently exceeded the 240,000 active players mark. In November of 2009, www.erepublik.com received over 7.4 million visits and 172 million page views. In addition, during September, citizens spent over 107 million minutes navigating the eRepublik world.
The New World's social based game play allows it to spread virally in terms of content and users, with almost no distribution and content creation costs. Listening to its community, the eRepublik team has been able to make regular releases, adjust game-play, try new things and add new features so as to increase the vast number of options players have to interact among each other. Now, after recently celebrating its 750 days of existence, over 900,000 citizen accounts have been created and eRepublik has an active community of over 240,000 people who play frequently enough to keep their citizens alive and well.
